Environmental Toxins

Toxins are unfortunately an indispensable part of our world. Chemical additives in cosmetic products, such as phthalates, so-called softeners, which are also used for plastic bottles and which dissolve when exposed to heat. Pesticides such as glyphosate, heavy metal contaminants in fish and meat, genetically modified food, microplastics, aluminum, amalgam, mercury....the list is alarmingly long.

What effects does this have on your hormone production?

Many products contain so-called xenoestrogens. Xenoestrogens are synthetically produced chemical compounds that imitate the hormone estrogen, among other things. Xenoestrogens can increase an estrogen dominance during your menopause. They attach themselves to your hormone receptors and block them. This disrupts your natural hormone production. It is therefore important that you minimize or, even better, eliminate these xenoestrogens as they can be the cause of a possible imbalance in your hormone system.

Now you are probably wondering how to do this. The answer is: do what is feasible and best possible for you. Make sure that you do not buy any products that contain xenoestrogens. So check the ingredients on the label.

You can check the hidden ingredients with the help of an app, for example. For example, you can use the apps ToxFox or CodeCheck.info to check whether hormonally active substances such as parabens etc. are present in the product. I got into the habit of simply checking the barcode in the store with one of the cell phone apps. This is easy and lets you know immediately if you should rather keep your hands off the product.

I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Yours, Dagmar
